A call came into Mission Wrecker for a Crane Towing Company. A crane near Gillette, Texas had slipped sideways off a narrow dirt road and need assistance to be placed back on the road. The crane towing company team drove out to the site and assessed the situation. The crane towing company team figured out that the crane weighed a total of 146K pounds. The recovery required a combination of careful work and precise thinking. The crane towing company team drove the heavy wrecker into place alongside the semi loaded with the crane. The crane towing company team noted that the crane was leaning hard to the right. They needed to carefully secure, the crane while they winched it out of the ditch. The driver of the crane pulled pressed the accelerator and drove the crane two feet. The crane towing company team kept the pressure on the winch cable The driver of the crane drove a few more feet and the crane started to drive up out of the ditch. The front tires of the crane drove onto flat ground. The driver drove the crane all the way onto a flat, gravel surface. The crane towing company team member disconnected the winch. The crane towing company team then retrieved the winch cable.
