Trailer Buckles Under the Weight of Pallets Requiring a Schertz Wrecker Service
(210) 341-0333 Mission Wreckerd
A Schertz wrecker service was required when a trailer collapsed under the crushing weight of 23,000 pounds of pallets and needed assistance. You may have heard the expression, “the straw that broke the camel’s back.” But on December 11, 2019, it wasn’t straws, and there was no camel. Instead, pallets broke the trailer’s back.
Mission Wrecker quickly responded to the call for a Schertz wrecker service and helped send these pallets on their way.
While we knew to expect a mess, we had no idea the extent of the damage caused by the pallets. Upon arriving to the scene off I-10 and Trainer Hale Road in Schertz, Texas, we found a wilting trailer suffering under a massive weight of pallets. Moreover, the roof had also given way, exposing the load to the elements. The trailer was unfit to continue to its final destination.
Mission Wrecker swiftly unloaded the pallets from the trailer using dollies. After sliding the axles forward, we hooked the trailer up to the heavy wrecker in order to tow it back to the yard. Thanks to the help of the Schertz Police Department, the task was completed safely and efficiently.
Details of Pallets Moved By a Schertz Wrecker Service
On December 11, 2019, Mission Wrecker received a call and provided wrecker services in the Schertz, Texas area. The Schertz wrecker service team was called to recover the pallets from a damaged trailer and tow it away. As the trailer transported 23,000 pounds of pallets, it buckled in the middle, and the roof gave way. This rendered the trailer inoperable and unsafe to continue the journey. The Schertz wrecker service team found the truck stranded on I10 near Trainer Hale Road in Schertz, Texas. This delayed the delivery of the heavy pallets to their destination, as well as the flow of traffic on 10. When the Schertz wrecker service team arrived on scene to assist, it became apparent that this was more than a simple towing job. The sheer number of pallets in the truck made it evident that the load was too much for the trailer to adequately support. The Schertz wrecker service team unloaded the numerous pallets out of the truck using dollies. Then, the Schertz wrecker service team loaded the pallets onto a different trailer. To tow the broken trailer back to the yard, the Schertz wrecker service team slid the axles forward and hooked it up to a heavy wrecker. The buckled trailer was returned to the yard by the Schertz wrecker service while the pallets continued toward their destination. With the help of the Schertz Police Department, the Schertz wrecker service team safely assisted in the transfer of pallets and towing of the trailer. This proved to be another successful job by the Schertz wrecker service team. Mission Wrecker is happy to have been able to provide assistance in a timely manner.
